New train to take nominee on last tour

Woman Denied Right to Tell All She Knew

Youth Injured as Auto Jumps River Bridge
Joseph Pierce, about 24, of Shrewsbury New Jersey, broke his collarbone and suffered a punctured lung when the Lincoln car he rode in fell from a steel bridge at Harper's Ferry. Driver Benjamin J Parker, Pierce’s employer, escaped with minor injuries. James Brown a former local barber underwent surgery yesterday in Chambersburg to remove his right leg above the knee. He was injured when hauling a barrel of cider. attempting to right the toppled barrel caused the truck to go over an embankment and roll onto his leg, necessitating amputation.

Ferguson Victim Of Auto Accident Near Smithsburg
Robert Ferguson, 44, of Smithsburg, died at 6 45 this morning from injuries suffered about ten days earlier when struck by Daniel Kline’s car on the new pike near Chewsville. An employee of the Western Maryland Railroad, he left a Junior Order meeting for ice cream and ran out of gas while walking to Paulsgrove’s Garage. He is survived by eleven children, all living in Smithsburg, and his wife died about a year ago. State police will investigate the crash, regarded as unavoidable.

Westminster Maryland October 28 The Charles Carroll high school of Myers District Carroll County was destroyed by fire this morning with an estimated loss of 50000. Flames started in the boiler room were observed by Paul Fitze of Silver Run at 5 o clock Westminster and Littlestown fire departments could not save the building. J Pearce Wantz president of the School Board said efforts would rent rooms in the community to carry on school work for 250 pupils.

Ten Thousand Watchers to Guard Chicago Polls
