Maryland State Guard to be mustered at Armory tonight
Local Maryland units A B and Headquarters of the State Guard will be mustered into state service tonight at the Armory in a ceremony led by Major Sullivan with Lieut Colonel William Preston Lane participating. General Dwight H Mohr says the force stands at 2562 men and aims for 3900, with 70 percent currently uniformed. The old Enfield rifles from 1917 era remain the basic arm as uniforms mirror army style with distinctive insignia.

Reenactment Sought in Bel Air Fatal Shooting Case
Harford County Sheriff seeks a court order to reenact the fatal Browning shooting scene in Harford County Maryland. Three Alexandria Virginia youths aged 14 to 16 are held on charges connected to the Mount Olive North Carolina man’s death. Apple Plant Damaged by Fire in Inwood West Virginia
Fire of undetermined origin caused more than 25000 dollars in damage to the OC H Musselman Company apple processing plant and nearby structures in Inwood near Martinsburg. Fire teams from Martinsburg Winchester and Charles Town fought the flames for over three hours, confining them to the plant section and an adjoining store building. The blaze began in the pumice drying department where 14 kilns operate, spreading to a store and an apartment house owned by H L Snapp. Three families evacuated as fire and water damage affected homes and property.

Public auction at the courthouse sold the late Harry E. Martins estate real estate and 22 shares of Potomac Edison 7 percent preferred stock. A brick house on 300 North Cannon sold for 4960 to C W Spessard, a frame house on 200 North Cannon sold for 2375 to C P Fouke, Kaisers addition lot brought 155 to H H Harthe. Stock sold at 12250 a share.

Crashed Windsor Party. Man Held After Breakin
A man with a foreign accent named Gebhardt forced entry into the private rooms of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor at the Waldorf Astoria. He accompanied them to their 29th floor suite after a press reception, claiming to have crashed the party and helped check guest names. Police detained him when identity could not be verified.

Deputies Stangle and Miller arrested Elmer Moats Albert Bussard Merle Brown Leroy Reese and Howard Dunkin on assault charges tied to a fracas at the Hot Shoppe run by Charles Startzman on the national pike west of the city.
