Brumbaugh Steer Wins Grand Champion at Baltimore Show
Samuel Brumbaugh of State Line Pa wins grand champion short horn steer at the 1930 Baltimore livestock exhibition held October 14 1516. A silver loving cup from Louis Lyons & Sons Lancaster Pa plus a $30 cash award accompany the victory. Brumbaugh bought the calf April 3 at 450 pounds and the steer weighed 989 pounds at the show selling to Riverside Abattoir Baltimore for 26 cents a pound. He also earned $15 for showmanship. County Agent Milt D Moore may present the cup at a Boys Baby Beef club banquet. There are more than 50 factories in Washington DC.

Father Pleads Guilty in Triple Child Slaying Case
Taylor Hott admitted strangling his three children Gertrude 7 Calvin 6 and Floyd 5 and dumping their bodies in a quarry pond. He pleaded guilty in court after being indicted by a grand jury for the July 20 slaying. Sentencing was deferred.

World wheat consumption may surpass production
Washington reports the USDA estimates a larger 1950 21 world wheat crop than last year with consumption expected to exceed output during the marketing period.
