Washington County Baby Beef Club Holds Banquet
The first Maryland baby beef club season closed with a banquet at the Dagmar Motel. Forpey Young of the Washington County Farm Bureau praised the members for profitable calf fattening. Paige Smith spoke about his champion steer with 21.2 pounds daily gain. Members reported steer gains of 1.12 to 2.34 pounds daily and profits of 30 to 190 dollars. Kenneth Clark of the University of Maryland called the project highly successful.
