Food Exposition At Hagerstown Draws Thousands
A bustling food exposition at the Hagerstown Fairgrounds main hall drew an estimated 8,000 visitors per evening with total crowds around 25,000 over three days. Highlights include a 4 by 2 inch mince pie baked by Hagerstown Bakery for Baltimore mince meat samples and thousands of free passes exhausted by the organizing committee. Bob Russell’s orchestra provided music as crowds lined up to enter the exhibit.

Twin contest and world fair trips highlight exposition night
Tonight hosts a most like and most unlike twins contest with three prizes per group and Friday features a coffee entertainment. Saturday awards free trips to the World’s Fair. Merchants from Martinsburg Chambersburg and Waynesboro attended with John R. Fisher as general chairman. Mrs A M Rich teaches a cooking school with recipes. Hazel Shaw won the cash prize for the beer dressed guest at the masquerade ball. John Gerbrich took the moat comical costume prize. judges were E W Miller and Jesse Clem.

Goodyear Sears charge on tire discounts sparks FTC claim
The Federal Trade Commission files a formal complaint alleging Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Sears Roebuck and Company sold tires cheaper to mail order distributors than to other customers. Goodyear president P W Litchfield welcomed the charge and said he would prove no law was violated.
