British Officer Killed in Athens Shootout
A British lieutenant colonel, hid in an Athens house after British troops left Greece, was spotted by Italian authorities and killed while attempting to flee arrest. Two soldiers were wounded when confronted, and the officer fired on Italians before being killed by an Italian officer in a central square. Three soldiers and three civilians were wounded.

Hearing Postponed On Local Transportation Complaint
The Public Service Commission in Baltimore postponed the hearing on the complaint by Charton Transportation of Hagerstown against Chaney Transportation of Cumberland. The hearing shifts from next Tuesday to 1 a.m. November 12. Chaney is accused of operating without a Baltimore Cumberland license while Charton holds a permit. Chaney has applied for a new permit for regular Baltimore to Allegany County service. hearing on that application is set for next Tuesday.
