John M Dennis Dies At Home After Yearlong Illness
Baltimore aged 74 former state treasurer John McPherson Dennis died last night at Essex Farms near Baltimore after about a year of illness. A Maryland descendant and longtime public figure, he held the treasurer’s post from 1916 to 1935 with a brief interlude. Dennis was active in multiple Baltimore and Maryland enterprises and was a devoted farmer, owning Essex Farms and prizewinning Holstein cattle.
