Jury Convicts Brunswick Man in Murder Case
A Brunswick man, Emory E. Selby, 38, was found guilty of first degree murder by a Circuit Court jury for the August 29 stabbing death of Jack Ledwell, 23, of Jonesboro, Tenn. The verdict spared capital punishment and sentence was reserved. Artie Forrest, 29, also of Brunswick, was acquitted. Witnesses testified the trio had been drinking during the fight. Ledwell named Selby and Forrest as his assailants before dying. Selby, a furloughed Baltimore and Ohio Railroad employee, faces formal sentencing after the judge reserves verdict.

Black handyman arrested in Bel Air on confrontation charge
Bel Air Md Oct 16 Alex Jones a Black handyman who stayed around the jail for days was arrested Monday and taken to Montgomery County to face a charge of confronting a 16 year old white girl. He was identified by fingerprints on a police circular and arrested by Deputy Sheriff Francis. Rushkin Warren fingerprint expert confirmed the match. Jones was turned over to Corporal T F Vollten and Sergeant Leroy Rodgers of Montgomery County police.

Judge Digges Dies at 87 in Maryland Circuit
W Mitchell Digges chief judge of the Berenta Judicial Circuit and Court of Appeals member died at his home in Maryland last night at age 87. He had been ill since last April with heart trouble and complications after observation. Digges was long prominent in Maryland legal circles and was elected president of the State Bar Association last June.
Huntington man held for court on counterfeit bills
Claude L. Clark of Huntington was held Monday for Federal Grand Jury action on charges of passing counterfeit ten dollar bills. Officers say he bought the bills from a New York taxi driver for three dollars each and had passed eight. They found 12 more in his suitcase.
