The Arma of Washington county and Island Valley sponsor a food show at a big hall. From 2 to 5 PM and 7:30 to 9:30 PM daily, with Bob Russell and orchestra performing and many demonstrations. Thousands of prizes and articles on display with free admission for ticket holders.
A Cumberland Valley independent grocery show will charge 25 cents for those without tickets and provide ample parking. Exhibitors from California and distant places will attend. A free cooking school led by Mrs. A. M. Rich of Corn Products Co. will run daily except this afternoon, demonstrating products and utensils. The show runs through Saturday night with an executive committee and various subcommittees handling attendance, boosters, and exhibitors.
Los Angeles October 16 Jean Harlow platinum blonde actress underwent emergency appendectomy at Good Samaritan hospital. Doctor said she rests easily and shows signs of quick recovery. could leave hospital within two weeks barring complications. She eloped to Yuma and married Harold G Roscoe cameraman.
The Mayor and Council unanimously approve a monthly 50 cent per month aid for incidental expenses of the National Re-employment Bureau. William H. Bradley A K Coffman and William E Foltz defended the request noting federal funds cover only worker salaries and other costs must be found locally.
