Four Die In Nearby Crash East Of Gettysburg
Four people died in a crash four and a half miles east of Gettysburg when their car struck a concrete bridge wall. Pfc. John Creavey of the Pennsylvania state police reported three occupants killed instantly. Eva Wagaman, 40, of Grimsburg RD 5, died at 4 a m at Warner Hospital in Gettysburg. The other victims were Irvin Wagaman, 34, his mother’s son. Charles H. Wagaman Jr., 24, of Fairfield. and Lawrence J. Klosterman, 21, of Gettysburg DA 2, who likely drove. State police said the car left the rain-slick shoulder, tore apart, and the engine ripped from its mount.

Soldier injured in crash on West Franklin Street
A soldier stationed at College Park was injured early today after a collision in the first block of West Franklin Street. Ernest O. Mertz, 32, said he crossed North Potomac Street and a car turned from Potomac, cutting in front of him. He swerved left, hit a parking meter, and crashed into the J B R Black store corner. Palmer investigated and charged Mertz with operating without a license.
