Dr James E West chief Scout Executive and editor of Boys Life will headline the eighteenth annual Regional Scout meeting in Hagers Town the weekend of October 21 22. West rose from an orphan asylum to law to public service and Y M C A leadership and helped shape the modern Scout program. He will be among principal speakers at the regional banquet October 21 in Franklin Court auditorium.

The nude body of 18 year old Alice May Girton was found in her Fort Wayne rooming house. Autopsy by Dr. W H Kruse concluded murder by strangulation and criminal assault. She was a business college student with a crippled arm and a ward of the Public Welfare Department. A groomer reported hearing a man speaking to her around 2 AM. body found about 8:30 AM.

Students Injured In Highway Crash Near Frederick
Three high school students suffered bruises when a gasoline truck crashed into the rear of a Mt. Pleasant school bus near Ceresville. Glen Rippeon, Nellie Shaw, and Doris Hamilton, all 14 or 15, were treated and sent home. Bus driver Rodney Rippeon sustained a wrenched neck.
