Crowded Fairgrounds Show Chooses Belgian Winners
The crowd at the Hagerstown fair heard prize awards in standard bred classes with William Dunningham winning Grand Champion Belgian Stallion and several exhibitors like Honora Te Cochrane and Charles E. B. Shafer taking top money. Other merits went to Cyran Newcomner and H. R. Reeder in general classes, with a lively pony and Shetland show drawing attention. Grandstand acts impressed spectators as Irving's Imperial midgets and other ensembles performed, while balloon ascension ended in flames. The Chautauqua agreement for Swarthmore at Clearpring was announced for next October.
