Plans for the 18th annual Region meeting of the Boy Scouts of America take shape in Hagerstown October 21 and 22 with nearly 500 leaders from Maryland Pennsylvania Delaware Virginia DC and parts of North Carolina Ohio West Virginia and New York attending. Prominent executives from the U S and Canada will address the gathering in Hotel Alexander while the region banquet occurs October 24 at Franklin Court auditorium. Vinton Hershey will welcome visitors. two Sea Scout ships Silver Star and Key of Kalimer will demonstrate maneuvers in the hotel ballroom.

Truck Delays Traffic After Break at Death Curve
A broken axle on a large truck at Death Curve yesterday afternoon tied up traffic for about four half hours. The vehicle ran over tubing used in construction and part of its steel cargo fell onto the highway, disrupting flow.
