Joseph Milton Klipp, 33, of 236 Frederick Street, Hagerstown, was sentenced in Frederick to four years in the Maryland penitentiary for his role in the ten year old attack on Dennis Lenhart, a farmer near Yellow Springs, Frederick County. He pleaded guilty to an assault with intent to rob and was extradited from South Carolina after spending much of his life in penal institutions since his 1936 escape. Lenhart, beaten Dec 12, 1935 by three men including Klipp, was struck, bound with ropes, and left after the assault.

Anne McLaughlin, 40, once acquitted in a sensational Washington County trial of plotting to kill her husband, died yesterday in a Washington hospital after a long illness. Hancock truck driver Lloyd W. Shives employed by Golden Russell Orchard Corp was committed to Allegany county jail at Cumberland in default of fines totaling 110 50 after pleading guilty to two state motor charges at a Cumberland magistrate court. Shives received an unspecified term in lieu of 100 75 for driving on a revoked license and ten days for failing to pay 10 75 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
