Nash, Chicago Democratic Leader, Dies at 80
Patrick A. Nash longtime Chicago Democratic leader and co-chief of the Kelly Nash machine died of pneumonia after a four day illness. The 80 year old boss shared power with Mayor Edward J. Kelly and helped shape city, state, and national elections through a dominant political organization. Nash began his career forty years ago, holding key Chicago and Illinois party roles, and declined the Chicago mayoralty ten years ago in favor of Kelly.
