Three Autos Damaged In West Washington Street Crash

Three cars were damaged in a sideswipe on West Washington Street early today. Charles J. Hazelton, 33, of h0 North Prospect Street, was charged with reckless driving after his vehicle struck Harald E. Bean, 33, of 400 block West Washington, and Robert L. Hurd, 200 block North Mulberry, who were parked in the 400 block. Hazelton’s car was traveling east on West Washington Street.

Stolen car owner fined for leaving key in theft case

John N. Shadrach of 27 Summer Street had his car taken from West Washington Street. State Trooper Elmer L. Baum located the vehicle on Walnut Lane about four hours after the theft was reported. The ignition keys were found in the car and Shadrach faced a $1145 fine. The car was returned, and the owner was warned to keep ignition keys secure.
