Senator Coblentz Indicted For Bank Deposits In Insolvent Bank
The Frederick Post reports three indictments allege Coblentz took deposits on September 2, 1931 at the Central Trust Company of Maryland while it was insolvent. Plaintiffs include Edward B. Measell $224.25 John S. Oland $125 and Bruce S. Kepler $224.58. Page indictment cites failure to discover bank was unsafe and insolvent and to close it after discovery. Judge Willard presided as grand jury reported. Coblentz was previously convicted in Cumberland for a $317 deposit at the Elicott City branch and sentenced to the House of Correction. appeal pending, he was released on bond.

Concert-Dance Draws Throng At Municipal Band Event
