Soldier found hanging in hotel in Frederick Maryland
The body of Sgt. Gerard E. De Montigny a 44 year old from Montreal Canada missing since last Tuesday was found in his Frederick hotel room hanging by a bedsheet. Dr Baer Frederick County Medical Examiner ruled death by own action saying he had been dead for several days. The body was found by Francis Scott Wey hotel employees. The soldier was stationed nearby at Camp Ritchie.

Volunteers Meet To Plan Program For Rationing Board
Volunteers with the Community Service Panel of the local Rationing Board will continue city and county surveys of food establishments at unannounced times. Store managers largely cooperate with OPA rules, and the program this fall and winter will include consumer education on ceilings, prices, rationing points, and regulation changes. German ships hit London convoy off Dutch coast
