Three Die In Plane Crash Near Corland
In Corland New York on October 2 a plane piloted by Arthur Young of Homer with guests Donald Phoenix and Hymie Ness of Hartford Mills crashed at about 1000 feet altitude. All three were killed and the aircraft owned by Young and Lester Harper was demolished.

Immunization Of Children Is Urged Amid Diphtheria Cases
With two diphtheria cases in the city and a fatal third in the county, health officials urge immediate immunization for young children to prevent spread. Parents are advised to call physicians if croup appears to protect the young. It is noted there are many carriers among adults. After three scarlet fever cases at Mt Lena school, remaining children were skin tested and those susceptible received scarlet fever toxin. no additional cases have developed.
