Beginning tonight the Hebrew Festival of Sukkot is celebrated by Sons of Abraham in Hagerstown. The weeklong observance includes building booths, daily blessings, and offerings, with Simchat Torah on the final day marking the end of the Pentateuch reading and joy in the Law.
Cattle receipts total 425 with steers steady and other classes dull. Bulls and cows show mixed ranges from 3.75 to 6.50 for common and up to 9.56 for prime steers. Sheep and lambs total 1400 with market steady. hogs at 11.65 to 14.85 for various weights. Calves 175 receipts with market steady. plus a note on a local theatre ad for "Seven Flappers and Seven Vamps" at Main St. Theatre, Clearspring, Friday and Saturday.
