Boonsboro hosts a Western Maryland District American Legion and Auxiliary rally on Saturday December 1 from 7 p m to midnight at the Clopper Michael Post home. About 300 members from Carroll Frederick and Washington Counties will attend representing nearly 10 000 members. A banquet precedes talks by national and department officers including Mrs Miriam Frey and J Walter Walter. Notable speakers include Mrs Ruth Hastings and Leroy Metz with other leaders. Tickets are sold with extended reservations to Thursday and prizes awarded for posts units and individuals. Dancing by the Blue Notes of Chambersburg follows the program.

He added that he did not know which stations would purchase the films made in the local schools, but that Joh Daley, whose news cast is heard over Channels 7 and T3 each evening at 7:15, is a frequent user of tale news service. May said that movies made here yesterday would be ready for presentation today that it is possible Daley would have them on his program tonight.

Early today a fire on Smithaburg Rafte 2 near Edgemont killed three children trapped on the second floor. Rob ert Monn Jr aged 3 Deborah K Morin 5 and Roberta Morin 9 died. their mother Susan Monn was only slightly hurt and a 13 year old neighbor girl Mary Saret was uninjured. Fire officials attributed the blaze to an oil stove explosion. The Waynesboro Fire Company arrived but did not enter. skulls of the children were recovered for the Minnich Funeral Home. Dr Samuel R Wells expected to render an accidental death verdict.
