Washington gamblers fined in Maryland gambling case

Rockville November 29 fines totaling 3000 dollars plus costs were imposed by Judges Peter and Worthington in the Circuit Court on Dr J H Ladd Victor L Sipos Jos B Shipley and Edward Heath all of Washington who pleaded guilty to violating the state gambling laws A six month sentence in the Maryland House of Correction was imposed in each case but suspended pending good behavior.

Col Dallas Ward sold a field near Clearspring to David Flory and Harry Weller for 150 dollars per acre. A small farm on the outskirts of Clearspring belonging to L J Feidt was sold to Mrs Catherine Johnson for 1100 dollars.
