Scott McKane Dies at 59 After Heart Attack
Scott McKane aged 59 died suddenly on Thanksgiving day at his home. A longtime county official, he had served as stenographer for the Washington County Circuit Court and recently worked with Judge D Kenneth McLaughlin. McKane began as a substitute clerk in 1929 and held multiple posts in the court system. Three promotions were announced at the Hagerstown Post Office, including a foreman role for McKane. He was a native of Hagerstown and resided at 932 Salem Avenue.

County Motorists Pay Parking Fines At Higher Rate
Almost all of the 28 county residents failed to pay $1 parking tickets in Hagerstown and were charged a higher penalty of $8.70 each for neglect and tardiness. Constables serving warrants receive a $2.25 fee per case. Most county motorists have been contacted. two or three remain. Warrants will be issued for arrest if the $1 fines are not paid.
