Mrs Pastore Is Indicted In Bigamy Case In District Court
An indictment charging bigamy was returned yesterday by the Grand Jury against Teresa Pastore whose September marriage to Nick De Benedetto caused much trouble. She was released on bond for criminal court. Nick alleges his nephew introduced him to the woman and that the pair caused her arrest on the charge. He appealed a six month sentence in the House of Correction after an attack on him by Nick, with the appeal to be heard this session. Three indictments for larceny were found against Charles Forrest implicated in Smithsburg house robberies. Joel French and Frank Brown, both Negroes, were indicted for robbery. Also mentioned are past relations and failed efforts to obtain a wife for De Benedetto, and a scene involving a revolver.

Calves Arrive for Distribution to Local Youth Clubs
Fifty head of fine beef calves arrived in Hagerstown from Kansas City and were taken to W. J. Knepper’s farm near Fulkstown. On Saturday they will be distributed to Boys and Girls Baby Beef clubs in Washington and Frederick counties. Thirty-five calves go to Washington County members and fifteen to Frederick County. The calves are uniform in size and include Angus, Hereford and Shorthorn breeds.

Chinese Prisoners Paroled After Guilty Opium Charge
Poy Kee and Lee Chow the only Chinese inmates at Washington County jail were paroled from Federal Court after pleading guilty to possession of opium. They had earlier been jailed on whiskey and opium charges and given short local sentences. Upon release they were returned to Baltimore for trial on the other charge. Jealousy blamed in Kilmer Grigsby shooting case
Chambersburg authorities say jealousy motive prompted Kilmer Grigsby colored man to shoot Nellie Jenkins colored in Pennsylvania town early yesterday. Grigsby attacked Jenkins with a shotgun as she walked home, striking her in the right arm.
