The jury sat six days and examined 190 witnesses. It issued five true bills of indictment, the largest count in years, with fifteen dismissed for insufficient evidence. A thorough probe of the tal shooting of Otis Tobias at Hancock on October 16 led to the residence rear area following an alleged attack.
A Grand Jury found Tabler acted in self defense in a prior shooting after hearing witnesses. The panel reviewed county jail and county home conditions, noting 54 inmates in jail and 122 in the home with 7 white men, 31 white women, 10 colored men, and 3 colored women. Recommendations include wiring inspection, lighting fixes, court house improvements, vault space, better locks, attic cleanup, a Grand Jury witness platform, and enhanced ventilation. The jury commended county and city officers for crime detection and orderly case handling.
Radio in Waynesboro resumed normal broadcasts after engineer Marlin Thurmond of Potomac Edison traced a fault where two unused telephone wires contacted the town light circuit. The disturbance affected all city areas, and tests showed reception stable again. In Michigan, 1929 wholesale establishments numbered 5,272 with net sales over 2.172 billion dollars.

Officers elected: Chairman Miss Lola May Christ Reformed vice-chairman Mr Boffee Grace A B secretary Miss Catherine Burger Christ Reformed treasurer Charles Carter Church of God assistant treasurer Stafford Kline.
The social chairman Irv ing Beard and publicity superintendent Miss Haz el Johnson led Christ Reformed and Presbyterian groups as the district voted to meet monthly on the second Thursday. The next gathering is set for December 8 at Christ Reformed church.
Baltimore city council, pressed by budget woes, moved to tax beer sales. Councilman Jerome Sloman proposed a resolution, directing the city solicitor to draft needed legislation, and the full council unanimously adopted it amid chants of we want beer.
Union Bridge Maryland reports that coroner George Benson said Burke Brooks and Edward Matthews will be held for the grand jury on murder charges in the death of Ralph C. Creager a 22 year old cement worker. Brooks is named as killer and Matthews faces accessory charges after a hearing. Creager died in Baltimore but the inquiry found he was struck with a hammer during an October 24 argument in Union Bridge.
Los Angeles reports Charles Falk charges in a cross-complaint that his wife Marguerite Falk struck him with a shoe in street quarrels and at friends’ home, and repeatedly hammered him with a shoe while riding in a car, detailing multiple incidents.
County program committee of Homemakers Clubs met at the county home demonstration office. Seventeen members attended as they chose subjects for the University Extension Service project "Mrs. Consumer and Her Buying Standards" to help families on a budget through better buying and use of home products. Topics include clothing expense management, buying shoes, seasonal purchasing, pressure cooker use, kitchen order, refrigeration, leftover clothing utilization, food preservation, and home textiles. Special district meetings on upholstering, food preservation, and flower gardening will be held, along with a coat making school in March.
