Social and personal items recount local residents traveling to Cumberland Frostburg and Washington visiting relatives attending events at Charleston Baltimore and Martinsburg. Several families attendees include Moon Porter Hoggan Schwinger Householder Moore and others with trips to Army Marine football game and a church hospital stay noted.
Mrs. George D. Martin entertained at a Saturday bridge luncheon at the Surrey Tea Room. A yellow and white color scheme highlighted flowers and decorations. Guests included Mrs. H. K. Rasch, Mrs. Glegett, Mrs. Ernest Briaing, and many others. First prize went to Mrs. Joseph Miller, second to Mrs. A. G. Sirke, third to Mrs. Clagett, and fourth to Mrs. McCune.
The Hagerstown L oiga Elks announce their annual Thanksgiving dance at the Hagerstown Country Club on Wednesday evening November 23. A top dance orchestra will provide music and decoration will adorn the hall. Attendance requires a member or a guest escorted by a member, with Lizzie Bachtell included among attendees.
Darwin resident WW Otzelberger Sr was guest of honor at a birthday surprise arranged by his children and grandchildren on his 69th birthday. The event featured two cakes with 69 and 65 candles, gifts including a five dollar gold piece, and German songs, with many Otzelberger relatives in attendance.
Receipts of 1213.89 and expenditures of 1196.74 for the Wilson Marshall Lewie campaign were reported by John B Sweeney treasurer of the Democratic Central Committee. In Fuckstown an outfit of men s clothing and two full suits of women s clothing were found along the creek by Jack imyre and his son in law Charles Fabrney while hunting. John Hartle Chewsville had two hogs named Wilson and Lee that gained in weight since the election. Harry Markell North Potomar street hunted three big ones. Among the hunters were Omer Slick Gary Newdomer Harvey Wachter Scott Bower Dix Harris Co Strole David H Hager William Garger Frank Clayborne Albert Ridenour Howell Reel Wm Wills Alvey Koogie J Calvin Ridenour and Barlag Thum. Capt George L Fisher entertained in observance of his 66th birthday. Members of Tone Post and the Sone of Veterans were his guests.
Leonard Mathias leads the Alsatia dance committee planning a Thanksgiving Ball at Stouffer's Academy tomorrow night. Alga tans and Alsatianettes will perform, Ned Ridenour's orchestra will provide music, and the hall will be decorated for a large attendance with novelty dances featured. The committee includes James Black Chay Spigler and L. V. Hershey.

Thirty years ago today Jenn Reynolds and her company opened a week at the Academy of Music featuring A False Stew Camille Woman's Rights and The Bachelor. The city marked the twelfth anniversary of St Pauls M E Church as $1000 was donated to church obligations. Mr and Mrs Louis Hicks observed their sixteenth wedding anniversary.
A pound party was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Elmer Longanecker in Chewsville to honor their son Carrol Longanecker. Refreshments followed dancing as a group of relatives and friends gathered, including Gladys Brandenburg Margaret Becher Tess A Moaer Lois Moaér Virginia Soyder and others.
Tomorrow evening at 8:01 oclock a student recital will be given at the Hagerstown School of Music. Miss Amy Wagusan will perform with assistance from Miss Jake Hoffman and Miss Thelma Sowers.

A bridge supper at 202 Summit Avenue yielded prizes with Mrs H K Momma Jr and William Ramsey Jr taking top and consolation, followed by local residents and visitors including Misses Mary Mount Rachel Hemsberg and others.
A party was held at Grant and Mrs Myers home on Welsh Run road Monday night in honor of Mrs Myers fortieth birthday. The Myers orchestra played music and many gifts were received by Mrs Myers as guests including numerous Meyers and Forsythe family members and friends from the area.
The regular monthly social meeting of the Catholic Daughters of America will be at the K of C Hall on North Potomac Street on Tuesday evening at seven o'clock. Members are requested to be prompt.
