Chicago Nov 15 350000 railroad employees were ordered to strike December 7 8 and 9 to press for a 30 percent wage increase. Chiefs of five operating brotherhoods said presidents of carrier committees were informed of the plan. Roosevelt’s fact finding board had recommended 7 1/2 percent but unions rejected it.
The first hunting fatality of the season in Franklin county Pennsylvania occurred yesterday. Hoy Washington Happle, 37, a Spring Run laborer, was killed instantly when a shotgun discharged as he mounted a low stone fence to shoot at a rabbit. The butt struck the fence wall and the muzzle was against his left cheek.

Annapolis Md Nov 13 The Legislative Council urged Governor O Conor to consider bonuses for state employees during the emergency if he calls a special general assembly session. The council also urged the State Roads Commission to raise hourly wages from 35 to 40 cents. If no special session is held, a regular 1943 Assembly could cut the income tax with retroactive effect. Senator Kimble noted hourly road staff were not included and need help.
