Finance Company Office ransacked over weekend with two shot

The General Acceptance Corporation office on Summit Avenue was broken into over the weekend. Thieves escaped with over 2100 in cash after ransacking the premises. Det. Sgt. Wigfield said records were scattered and equipment damage could reach 1000. Entry gained via roof. an inner door was forced open.

Veterans Day Service At Court House Headlines Court Heist

A break in at the Court House during the Veterans Day service revealed a cabinet safe pried open and cash missing totaling 2187.98. Detectives Lowry and Hannon investigated the South Potomac Junior High School break in and theft losses included 489 in silver dollars 200 in Liberty half dollars a 1934 class ring and two wrist watches. The memorial service led by Rev Wilbur Hogewell featured a poem oration urging peaceful strength and moral courage as wreaths were placed at the Court House memorial.

Ohio man admits killing two sweethearts in love triangle

In Dayton, Robie Crites 31, a Navy veteran and father of four, told detectives he killed Beverly Eldred 17 and Deanna Fouch 16 to protect his wife from discovery. He planned to move the bodies to Colorado and kill his wife’s sister, then abandoned the plan. Prosecutors were to receive charges as authorities described the affair and Crites background including work at General Motors Moraine plant.

Flags Decried As Ground Clutter In Downtown Protest

Vigorous protests erupted this morning over how the American Flag was treated in two downtown blocks on West and East Washington Streets during Veterans Day ceremonies. W M Cookman and L H Taylor voiced anger at finding Stars and Stripes on the ground, citing the law against letting the flag touch the earth. Cookman spoke of his son Lt Donald M Cookman, a Marine killed in action in the South Pacific and buried in Arlington. Taylor, a longtime Marine and member of the Marine Corps League and VFW, joined the grievances amid the ceremony near the Court House.
