Ravenna Ohio November 11 Sheriff George E Shields said a 29 year old Sunday school teacher admitted in a verbal statement drowning her two children Malcolm five and David two months late yesterday in a half filled tub of scalding water at nearby Geauga on the Lake The woman Mrs Edward McVeigh Jr will be charged with murder today in the deaths He quoted her as saying she threw David into the tub then chased Malcolm into the basement After beating his head against an iron post and the stairs she placed him in the tub also and then attempted to drown herself in a shallow pool behind the house Shields said He declined to disclose the reason for the act The woman was held under police custody in a hospital where she was taken in hysterical condition.

Pleads Guilty And Pays Fine In Ferry Altercation
Centerville Maryland November 11 Two Cambridge men faced fines after a November 2 disturbance aboard the Matapeake Sandy Point ferry. Dr Fred A Miller nose and throat specialist and George N Groff were fined 50 dollars plus costs for drunken and disorderly conduct and assault and battery on Capt Frank Conway. Conway testified Miller threw fire extinguishers overboard and was later struck in the back as he escorted Miller to his car. Ship watchman Charles Horney identified Groff as the assailant. State troopers arrived after Conway summoned help. State’s Attorney Edward Turner called the offenses serious but urged leniency due to the men’s prominence in Cambridge.

Gas Truck Overturn Blocks Highway East of Ridgeville
A tractor trailer driven by Leon Alfred Brunner of Hagerstown overturned on a main road about a mile east of Ridgeville, spilling about 4,500 gallons of gasoline. Brunner escaped with minor injuries as Mt. Airy firemen guarded the scene for two hours. The truck, owned by Charlton Bros.
