At the Hotel Alexander weekly Lions Club luncheon in keeping with Armistice Day the Minute Men speaker D Raymond Suivey officer of the Eighth Battalion outlined the group's revival and role. He noted four companies in Hagerstown and eight in Washington County and linked Minute Men activities to the State Guard. The program was arranged by Lions Sperow Warrenfeltz and E Leister who heads one Minute Men company. Guests included Lieuts Saxon Bowhman and Brailey and Capt Green O'Connor Guth McDury and Zellers with other officers present.

The Board of Street Commissioners met last night and ordered the installation of seven Christmas trees in Hagerstown along with street lights for the Hamilton Homes development. Chief William H. Peters reported 431 arrests in October with 431 fines collected. Principal arrests included drunks 39 and 36 larceny cases. 40 disorderly conduct. 25 driving law violations. 229 parking violations. 36 assault cases.
