Fire of undetermined origin yesterday afternoon leveled the Snyder farm structures one mile east of Funkstown. Loss estimated at 6000 dollars. Firefighters saved the residence and chicken house while pumping water from Antietam Creek. An automobile burned in the garage. all live stock were in a field at the time.

Albert Brown alias Young Bobby Burne a 25 year old black boxer confessed to the torch slaying of Manuel Silva a 44 year old Spanish ship's carpenter in Frederick County Maryland.
