A 15-year-old Muskegon Michigan boy Steven Foster Gee shot and killed Floyd Peterson 43 at his mother's Whitehall home to protect her. No charges filed against the boy. Peterson, a guest at Mrs Ruby Gee's home, allegedly became intoxicated and threatened Mrs Gee with a gun.
A blaze on Sword Mountain near Blair's Valley, straddling the Maryland Pennsylvania line, remained active with flames on the Pennsylvania side under control by early today. CCC squads aided by five volunteers fought the fire. several hundred acres of forest land reportedly burned near property owned by Clear Spring residents.
Rev Dr Scott RL Wagner will be guest of honor and speaker at the Little Heiskel Club gathering on Tuesday November 16 at 630 PM at Becks Savern. The club, recently organized by city officials and employees, has over 100 members. D Lee Staler, president of the lab, said special entertainment will be arranged.
Berlin on November 10 Bern ard Sander a 28 year old German accused of espionage for the French Foreign Legion was hanged He was the fourth alleged spy executed within a week reflecting a harsh crackdown on espionage during the period
The U S Weather Bureau reports increasing cloudiness with rain beginning late tonight or Thursday and colder conditions on Thursday. Chesapeake Bay will see rain late tonight or Thursday with increasing easterly winds turning northeast or east on Thursday.

State director David L Fringer announced from Baltimore. Appointment completes state office managerships except Baltimore. confirmation by the Unemployment Compensation Board. Stouffer is well known locally and has been active in newspaper work for years.
Harrisburg officials push bicycle licensing as a growing road issue. Revenue Secretary J Griffith Boardman urged tags for riders to grant them responsible status, noting the department already licenses motorists.
William C Dundee of Cumberland was fined £210 in Frederick for operating with a revoked license, exceeding 69 mph, and lacking a registration card. Police note he was convicted of manslaughter in 1930 and sentenced to two years in the House of Correction.

In Beirut on November 10, Megu erdich Kararan, 29, an Armenian and former Boston resident, was executed at dawn for the assassination of United States Consul General James Theodore Marriner. He sang a Turkish song with words I have waited for thee but thou hath not come and claimed his crime was insult motivated. His final speech ended with Down with Washington. The body stood on the scaffold for two hours before burial.
The body of James Theodore Marriner American consul-general slain in Beirut arrived in Boston aboard the steamship Excam bion. Moments earlier Marriner's assassin was hanged in Lebanon, news from Beirut confirms.
Washington County received a 15940 check from state comptroller William S Gordy Jr for general public assistance. Distribution to Baltimore City and all counties came from the state aid fund after income tax receipts were reviewed. Baltimore City got 200000 as its 60 percent share. counties shared the remaining 200000.
Louisvillian Admiral Claude Charles Bloch, 59, nominated by Secretary Swanson to succeed Admiral Arthur J. Hepburn as Navy Commander in Chief around February 1. Born to a Czech immigrant father and a Woodbury Kentucky mother, Bloch excelled in school and ships at sea, later butter making with a Latin book nearby. He is a veteran of Spanish American War and World War I.
Captain of Police Carl H. Mc Cleary announced parking restrictions for Armistice Day. Traffic will be diverted from the first block of West Washington Street during services at the Court House, and parking is banned on West Washington Street between Jonathan and Prospect from 1 pm until after the parade.
A mine fire roared 250 feet underground in north Scranton near Hive 10,090 residents as a broken trolley wire sparked coal fires two weeks earlier at the Von Storch mine of Penn Anthracite. Engineers lack equipment to fight it, inspectors say no immediate home danger but carbon monoxide risk exists. North Scranton High school operates while Penn Anthracite unable to finance attack.
Physicians said jockey Fred Kapel of Jamaica New York is only fair after a spill at Pimlico. Track physician Dr Lee J Volenick reported Kapel developed pneumonia in his left lung.
New York scientists report the first isolation of the measles virus by Professor Jean Broadhurst of Columbia University using a simple nigrosin stain. The method detects the virus in nose or throat samples days before rash, aiding carrier identification and vaccine development. In 1924 there were 799,455 measles cases in the United States.
State Roads Commission forces started a resurfacing program on sections of the National Highway between Wilsons and Hancock. West of Wilsons, one section is finished and more westward is prepared with a preparation similar to an east experiment one mile from Licking Creek bridge. The experimental east stretch survived two severe winters without damage. A newer surface over concrete shoulders provides non skid sealing against water intrusion. The resurfacing is described as negligible in cost.
Bert Saunders told a magistrate in Pittsburgh that a sudden sneeze caused him to be thrown through a $69 plate glass window while walking. He said the sneeze followed by stepping on fruit made him crash into the pane, and the magistrate freed him of the charge.

William Vestal aged 78 and his brother Samuel 67 met at William's son's home in Los Angeles sixty years after parting in Oklahoma. Samuel recalls schooling, and William says he learned to read and write after his wife taught him six weeks of study.
