Washington AP reports that sugar prices are set to rise by more than a cent per pound by year end as government measures shift producer prices. A 4.3 cent per pound fee on foreign sugar and a nine tenths of a cent import duty increase aim to curb imports, with consumers paying under half the 1974 peak.
