In the first week of operations Columbia Airlines hauled 17 passengers from Hagerstown to Baltimore or Cumberland. The Municipal Airport ticket office reports 5 to 6 daily inquiries about schedules, with trips conducted mostly as connections to other lines in Baltimore. VFW Post Buys Reynolds Property for Clubrooms

Woman With Skull Fracture Improves in Hospital
Wanda McPherson, 26, of Smiths burg, was admitted to Washington County Hospital on October 28 with a severe skull fracture and was somewhat improved this morning. She was riding in a coupe that hit a concrete culvert on Route 40 east of Funkstown. Kenneth Creager of Boonsboro, driver, told a state trooper he was blinded by oncoming lights. The case is pending the outcome of her injuries.
