Truck Driver Robbed By Young Bandits On Rte 1
Price Reid of Harrisonburg Virginia Mason-Dixon truck driver, was robbed and beaten by two youths who blocked the Leitersburg Ring Road with a Ford truck about 3 a.m. He was taken to Washington County Hospital with head and facial injuries. The gun failed to fire when one man aimed at him, prompting a vicious assault. Officers suspect the truck used may have been stolen earlier from Ludwig filling station on Summit Avenue.

Accident Victim Dies At Hospital
John Shatzley a 71 year old Chambersburg resident who ran a second hand store on Jonathan Street died at Washington County Hospital from injuries from a Monday road crash on the Middleburg pike at the Municipal Airport. Police say Shatzley sideswiped a car and then struck a truck head on as driver Frank E Johnston 34 Green Castle Route One witnessed the collision after pulling aside.

Debt Is Bigger Than Announced At County Board
