Gov Herbert R. OConnor reports expedited construction will unlock 1,018,447 of 3,000,000 in federal road funds frozen by state delays. Norfolk and Western grade crossing elimination at Antietam will start by January 1, 1935 and approaches by January 31. Route 40 relocation at Great Trolloway Creek and Potomac River bridge approaches to begin. Whitman reorganizes Roads Commission to put 43 primary five secondary and three crossing projects under contract by June 30. Progress shows five of 13 primary roads under contract by January 31, with seven of the remaining eight by June 30. Wilkens avenue extension to connect with Washington Boulevards uncertain for fiscal 1935.

American Citizen Josef Sadowski Executed by Germans
Josef Sadowski of Chicago was executed in Warsaw on October 20 for concealing arms and munitions, believed by German authorities to be an American citizen. His widow Stefania says he was a Polish patriot who had lived in Chicago 34 years and joined the Polish Legion after WWI.

Crampton Given Year and Fine for Illegal Whiskey Possession
Oliver W. Crampton, 49, jailed after pleading guilty to illegal possession of whiskey for sale. He received a $500 fine and one year in the House of Correction from Magistrate Barber in Williamsport.
