Five Held as Suspects of Bandit Gang in Maryland
Five men identified with the so called Black Shirt gang in southern Maryland were detained in La Plata for robberies in Charles and St. Marys counties over the past month. Among the detainees are Preston Swann Sherman Swann Herman Meredith Grifith Swans and Frank Grason. Blaine Swann arrested near Conowingo last week confessed to gang ties and motorist holdups. Preston Swann faces an auto theft hearing today while the robbery hearing for the quintet is set for Friday.
