Frederick County Telephone and Telegraph Deal Reported

Nov 2 The C and P Electric Company eases a deal to purchase the Frederick County Telephone and Telegraph system for about 100. A f o r t h y months ago Mr Thigiey directed the directory to set a price. The stock of the Frederick County company to be taken over at 80 cents on the dollar. The bonds to be taken at par with accrued interest. The authorized capital $100,000, with 70,000 stock issued. The Frederick company, home enterprise led by Br. P Wahrney president and Larkin manager, formed in 1887 as Interstate Company, later renamed Frederick County Telephone and Telegraph Company. It has outstripped Potomac in the county since founding. Officials say no information about future relation to Chesapeake and Potomac lines.
