Charles Richard Palmer, 39, of 402 W Franklin St, Livonia Michigan, died at a midtown trench site on Route 11 sewer project when earth collapsed as shoring failed. Palmer, employed by Boams Construction Co, was buried under dirt as workers, led by supervisor Scott, tried to free him. Funeral arrangements incomplete, state police report.
