Record Week Brings 337 U S Killed In Vietnam War
Saigon AP reports the American Command records 337 U S personnel killed in action last week, with 2,282 wounded and 31 missing, as fighting around the demilitarized zone intensifies and the zone is cleared of allied troops. South Vietnamese losses reach 241 killed, plus 80 allied Koreans, while North Vietnamese casualties total 2.46 percent. The invasion of the southern DMZ portion begins after a surge in shelling and a shift to a buffer role under Geneva terms.
