United Service Organizations for National Defense plans a nationwide drive to raise 10 765 000 with 10 000 earmarked for Washington county. Agencies include Y M C A National Catholic Community Service Salvation Army W C A Jewish Welfare Board and National Travellers Aid Society. Committees will be formed next week, headquarters set in the business district, and a program of literature and outreach to inform every citizen of the county about the effort to support service personnel and civilian morale.

New Trial Denied for Doctor in Maryland Case
Maryland Court of Appeals refused a new trial for Dr Clift P Berger of Oakland county convicted by Garrett county circuit court of assault and battery and perverted sexual practice. The Garrett court fined Berger 300 dollars stipulating six months in the House of Correction if the fine was unpaid within six months.

FRONT ROYAL Va May 21 Three members of the Johnson family were shot to death in their Huntley roadside post office store. A 16 year old boy Thomas Dever Cameron admitted the killings in front of officers and said he planned to rob the store. He led police to the revolver hidden in the woods miles away.

She called the Maryland Virginia state line to notify the travelers who returned for the money and the husband reclaimed only a $1 reward.
