Thomas E. B. Shaw and James F. Shaw of Fairplay purchased registered Jersey cows from W. H. Labrot of Annapolis. Grace E. Wintermonger of Hagerstown bought a Jersey from Dick Hart of Clear Spring. All three cows are purebred and registered with The American Jersey Cattle Club in Columbus, Ohio.
A Greencastle Pa plant will begin production on June 1. A company representative will be at the plant office from May 15 to coordinate orders for Strawberries Rhubarb Black Raspberries Red Raspberries Cherries Elderberries Green Beans Sweet Corn and related items at telephone Greencastle 260.
Investigators suspect a possible link between two Berkeley Springs deaths after a Fairfax, Virginia man George R. Leach, 59, was found dead with a fatal head wound near a highway and a woman murdered nearby. Autopsy showed seven skull fractures from a .22 caliber wound. A car registered to Leach was found near the scene. Torphe from National, West Virginia, later found with a woman's girdle and love letters.
Jimmy Rinehart, known as Accident Victim, was shaken up yesterday when a seven year old boy tripped on a rope near him and toppled. Rinehart, who earlier survived a car collision on McPherson Street and received substantial local contributions, continues to recuperate at home.
