Duchess, 63, aims for London to India record flight
The Duchess of Bedford, aged 63, who flies her own plane in Europe, plans a two day loop to beat the RAF record set by Squadron Leader Jones-Williams for a nonstop London to India flight. She intends to complete it in under 58 hours 38 minutes with a companion.

Clinic at Sharpsburg screens 36 children for health
Thirty six children were examined at the Sharpsburg pre school clinic led by Dr. Ernest Poole. Only three passed for perfect health. 33 showed minor defects and will be referred to family physicians before the fall school opening. Students from Antietam Furnace and Dargan attended. Isabel Hull organized the event at Sharpsburg School.
