Steer Rescued From Drain Pipe Near Sharpsburg Farm

A 400 pound steer belonging to James Jamison crawled into a concrete drain pipe from an underpass toward Shepherdstown and became stuck. Three State Roads men and Jamison pulled it out this morning, the animal appearing only slightly hurt. Youth Charged In Assault Case Continues On Appeal

A case involving an assault on eight youths in a parked car on a secluded road near the Dual Highway last summer moves toward a new trial after one defendant was convicted in circuit court and granted a new trial by the Court of Appeals.
