Driver Loses Arm In Head-On Crash Near Waynesboro
Raymond E. Eichelberger a 28 year old Waynesboro painter suffered the loss of his left arm after a head on collision two miles south of Waynesboro. He drove a Ford pickup into a Packard sedan driven by Robert L Mose of Hagerstown who was uninjured. Mose’s passenger Edne Mae Hartle sustained a severe bruise. Police say Mose was traveling about 465 miles an hour when the truck crossed the line. Eichelberger was hospitalized and his arm amputated below the elbow.

Chiang Kai-shek vowed to defend to the death in a plan to fight a decisive Shanghai to Nanking railway battle and commit suicide if defeat occurred. Vote Postponed On Highway Aid Bill In House
Washington May 16 A House vote on a bill to authorize 313 million dollars in federal funds for the Baltimore Washington parkway was postponed after a lack of quorum. The measure would finance an 18.8 mile expressway between Washington and Fort Meade with Maryland paying for construction. Rep. Wilson called the project pork while Rep.
