The Soviet news agency Tass called Alabama Governor George C. Wallace's remark that the United States may have fought the wrong people in World War II fiendish. Tass warned the comment reflected a force not renouncing peaceful coexistence with other social systems. Forest fires swept through lower Michigan over the weekend destroying about 13000 acres of timber and brushland. Authorities labeled it the worst in 28 years as fires along the Roscommon County area south of St Helen scorched 6000 acres before officials brought them under control on Sunday.
