The County Board failed to cooperate on the Hollow Road project as bids reached 62 225.50 dollars and later 40 744 dollars appeared as the county share. State Roads Commission warned federal funds could be used elsewhere if terms were not met.
Commissioner Winslow F. Burhans argues against diverting real estate tax funds to the Roads Department. He notes the Roads Department runs on gasoline tax receipts and warns such a shift could drain real estate funds and amount to misappropriation. He supports faster road building but only with available money.

City officials at City Hall propose a three year contract with option for five years to inter connect Municipal Electric Light Plant lines with PE. The tie in would allow use of PH power as a reserve during reconditioning of equipment. A second meeting with PE is planned to finalize terms and financing for a $1.3 million expansion.
Baltimore was the scene of a gun cache discovery linked to a Venezuelan political plot. Venezuelan cabinet minister Dr. Juan P. Perez Alfonso stated the 21 stolen machine guns found here are connected to an effort to overthrow his government. The State Department said four men arrested for stealing $26 000 in surplus army weapons are under review by Venezuela.
Assorted stocks edged toward recovery in today’s market as dealings were sluggish. Fractional declines predominated near midday while some buying appeared on bets that several issues may have been oversold. Investors waited for clarity on wage price issues labor and tax legislation.
