Body found in Forest Hills attic storeroom
The body of Mrs. Elizabeth Springgay aged 41 a psychiatric researcher and wife of a decorated former British army captain was found Sunday suspended by wire from a rafter in the attic storeroom of her Forest Hills apartment. She had been missing since April 21 reported by her husband Captain Wilfred Henry Mason Springgray who said she had a nervous ailment for more than a year.

Employment Drops in Western Maryland April Upswing
The Cumberland area led Western Maryland in April employment gains with 205 jobs placed, a 37 percent rise from March and 36 percent above April last year. Baltimore private jobs reached 1,513, up 11 percent from March and 106 percent from April 1938, while statewide employment rose 63 percent year over year. Cambridge showed weakness with 41 placements, down 25 percent from March and 41 percent from April last year. Hagerstown also dipped 6 percent from March, 14 percent from April 1938, with 60 jobs found. Annapolis recorded 67 unemployed placed, up 3 percent from March but below April last year.

Crash near Driffield injures family. grandmother among survivors
