Two Farms Are Sold At Public Sale
Two farms and a tract of lots were sold in front of the Court House at public auction yesterday afternoon. Auctioneer Lewis Ditto sold the Russell Shank farm of 114 acres at Rockdale for $8,850. The late Thomas Hassett farm of 173 acres south of Clearspring was sold by Auctioneer J. C. Snyder for $8,600 to Harry Newkirk. He also sold 17 lots in Grady's addition in the east end of Hagerstown at $25 each and one lot on Jefferson street for $110. Enough oil was supplied by the 1942 cotton crop to furnish every person in the United States with 10 pounds of food fat.
