Marine Strike Edges Toward Settlement At Conference
Washington May 4 a compromise basis was worked out between Admiral Benson and shipowners affected by the big marine strike. Dalton Jury Fails to Reach Verdict in Bank Robbery Trial

Hail Shower Strikes County Areas Yesterday Afternoon
Sections of the county saw another hail shower yesterday afternoon as a thin storm passed over. Willamaport and Half Way reported hail in considerable quantities with two showers near Half Way about a half hour apart.
